Throw fear in the backseat!

Fear drives discomfort. It is uncomfortable to do certain things in life.


For some people, eating fruits and vegetables brings discomfort, as well as any type of exercise or movement. Many, will choose to run from this feeling and stay in the much easier and more welcoming comfort zone. This may include eating comfort foods, which are not healthy for our bodies, and binge watching TV.


What is ironic is that if you make the decision to stay in your comfort zone you are essentially missing out on the best things in life. 


How do we move from the comfort to the discomfort without it feeling scary?


Easy. You Just Decide to be OK with the discomfort. Face it head on. 


There is no other way.


Sit with the feelings, instead of avoiding them.


Eventually, it will not be scary or uncomfortable any longer. At this point, you win. Along with the satisfaction of having conquered the unknown unscathed, you move on to the next uncomfortable thing. In doing so, you learn. You grow.


Begin challenging yourself to intentionally seek out the uncomfort, and relish in your newfound experience. Go for a run, try a new dish, introduce yourself to a stranger. Feel the fear-and do it anyway. This is what life is all about.
