"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you really are." -Carl Jung
The soul is ageless. Our bodies might have visible proof of our aging, yet our inner soul, is an ageless expression of our courageous, powerful and strong inner selves. During the natural aging process, we have confronted our downfalls, our shortcomings and our defeats, with our heads held up. We have rediscovered our own value and inner value. We are more aware of the world and its judgements, and know how to dismiss the comparison game and embrace our unique beauty.
Perhaps one of the most important factors in achieving and maintaining our inner spark is our positive attitude, and living our life in a state of Joy. This is powerful and should not be overlooked. More beautiful is the natural confidence of a woman and the way she holds herself, then the colors and masks she hides behind.
Speaking from my personal experience on this issue, I now in my mid forties have a much greater sense of well being, then I ever have before. It may be the knowledge that I have gained over the years, the times I have felt defeat, yet got back up again, or the understanding one only can define as living a seasoned life. The most important thing that has set my 40's apart from all of the rest is the knowledge that with every new day, there is something new to learn and discover. What may appear to be a problem or a failure, can turn into a learning experience and a chance to grow. Everything changes, when you view the events in your life this way.
Instead of focusing on the things that we lose over the years, for example youth and time, look at all that we gain. Knowledge, wisdom, and confidence are the first ones that come to my mind. For all that we think we have lost, I believe we actually accumulate so much more. I like to define this as Grace, by owning who you really are brings you to where you are supposed to be.
The energy of offering your Joy to the world will keep your cup filled and overflowing, this vitality comes from feeling connected to yourself and your inner power. This will lead you to live your best emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness possible. Expressing gratitude for your life and truly appreciating all of the gifts that you have been given also puts you in a continued awareness of Joy.
My 7 year old daughter Ella Kate recently said to me " I want to be little again, back when I was 3 and so cute!"
I reply " God made you perfect just the way you are. Would you really want to give up all of the growth and experiences of the past 4 years just for chubby cheeks?"
"Yes! I Do! " She wails.
I shake my head and say " Don't look back. You are not going that way."
